THE MAGNIFICENT SUNBEAM

The Magnificent Sunbeam is a work composed of the daily, online documentation of a workplace sunbeam. Exploring its evasive, ephemeral qualities, the journal enters into an exchange with the entity in which the sunbeam suggests a liberatory model of being in resistance to the compromised role of a professional. The regular practice of visiting, photographing, and writing about the sunbeam perpetuates and ritualizes the sunbeam's disruptive effect on workaday production.

The Magnificent Sunbeam can be found at themagnificentsunbeam.wordpress.com. It was featured as an online project for Inverse Internet Operating Manual (2012) curated by Dena Beard, and performed as Valediction for a Sunbeam (2011) at Arthur B MacArthur Gallery.
